The showroom and what is in it
Our Gallery showroom is at 165 Albany Highway. It carries the full Luxaflex Window Fashions range as full-size working displays, so you can operate the products rather than look at a photo of them, home automation included. There is a comprehensive sample collection covering the entire colour range, which makes it much easier to mix and match across a whole house or a commercial fit-out, and the advice is obligation free. The showroom also holds the complete Choices Albany range with carpet, vinyl and floating floor options, a wide range of roller shutters, and realistic artificial grass and turf.
Curtains, and the rest of the range
Curtains are the softest thing we sell and often the last layer to go on, over a blind or a shade. The fabric collection runs from sheers, which diffuse sunlight and hold some daytime privacy, through to blockout and room darkening fabrics, and an uncoated fabric can take a blockout or thermal lining instead. Heading styles and hardware come in classic and contemporary options, everything is made and installed to Australian standards and specifications, and the curtain range has a 20-day turnaround.
Curtain details worth knowing
- Track or rod: the U-Track keeps a minimalist profile and comes in black and white; the Tracked Rod is meant to be seen and comes in two colours.
- Bay windows and corners: bent curtain track comes in U-Track white and black, and in Rod Track in white, black and light bronze, and can be motorised with Somfy Glydea.
- Control: a clear acrylic wand in a choice of lengths, set up for left stacking, right stacking or centre opening, or motorised operation including PowerView.
- Layering: curtains are designed to sit over the Softshades collection, with Pirouette Shadings or Duette Shades at the glass and the curtain as the outer layer.
Blinds cover roller, vertical, Roman, soft Roman, panel glide, outdoor and VelaScreen. Softshades takes in Duette, Pirouette, Silhouette, LumiShade and Luminette privacy sheers. There are PolySatin plantation shutters, which are made in Australia and hold up in bathrooms and laundries because they are impervious to moisture, plus aluminium, Country Woods and Everwoods venetians. Outside, the awnings run from canopy, folding arm and metal louvre through to straight drop, System 2000, the Evo series and the Matera retractable pergola. The Evo MagnaTrack uses rare earth magnets in the side channels to hold the fabric flat, which means it can stay down when the wind gets up, and that matters on this coast. We also take on the awkward openings: bi-fold doors, skylights, shaped windows, hard-to-reach spots and humid rooms.
Our team and how we work
Our in-house design team has more than 30 years of experience behind it, and we run in-home decorating consultants as well. The team includes interior decorators and electricians, so the design and the installation come together without you having to coordinate separate trades. We have custom made and installed blinds, awnings and shutters in a lot of local homes and offices, on jobs large and small. Our consultants can also walk you through the energy side of it, because the right product manages the temperature of a room, and most internal and external coverings can be motorised and set on a timer so the house is already the right temperature when you get home.
Measure, quote and finding us
Come into the showroom if you can. If you cannot, we have an in-home consultation service, and the measure and quote are free either way. Luxaflex products carry a five-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects from Hunter Douglas Limited, with PolySatin shutters covered for twenty years from installation and motors and batteries on shorter terms. On top of that there is the 20/20 Gallery Gold Guarantee: once your internal window coverings are installed you have 20 days to live with them, and if you are not satisfied with how they look you have a further 20 days to come back to us for a one-time replacement with a Luxaflex product of equal or lesser value, with proof of installation.
