Koster’s Outdoor: Patios and Carports in Albany WA
We build patios, carports and partially enclosed outdoor structures for houses around Albany, and we have been doing it from 19 Graham Street for over 50 years. We are a local family business, and everything we put up is custom-made — as patio builders in Albany we draw each one for the house it is going on, then fabricate and install it ourselves. The idea, in our own words, is to expand your living.
Drawn for your roof line, not out of a catalogue
A patio that fights the house it is attached to is worth less than no patio at all, so the roof style is the first thing we settle. We build gable, skillion, hipped and curved roofs, which between them cover most of what is already on Albany rooftops. If you want more shelter than an open patio gives, we also build partially enclosed structures.
Carports follow the same approach. Because we fabricate rather than assemble a kit, the span, the pitch and the post positions can be worked around a driveway, a boat, a caravan or a tree you would rather keep.
What goes into a Koster’s patio
Materials and finishes
- Powdercoated frames: the structure comes finished, not raw steel waiting on a paint job.
- Polycarbonate sheeting: for roofs where you want light through rather than a solid ceiling.
- Roof styles: gable, skillion, hipped or curved.
- Concrete flooring: poured as part of the job, so the slab and the structure are handled together.
- Patio blinds: we supply blinds as well, which is what turns an exposed patio into a room you use in winter.
- Steel and sheeting brands: Bluescope Steel, Lysaght, CMI, Ampelite and ITW Buildex products.
Site works, engineering and council
The paperwork is part of the job. We handle site preparation, the drawing, the engineering and the council application, and installation is done by our own team. You are not left chasing an engineer or a certifier while a half-built frame sits in the yard.

When you are ready, the showroom at 19 Graham Street, Albany is open Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, and Friday until 4:00pm. We are closed on public holidays, and we work throughout Albany and the wider Great Southern.
