We are a locksmith in Albany WA working out of 1/12 Minna Street, and we have been at it since 1995. Our line is “Securing the Great Southern”, and that is an honest description of the job: homes, cars, shops, offices and farm buildings across the region, from one lost car key through to a whole-of-building access plan. Craig Hart owns the business today, bringing more than 20 years in the trade and carrying on what the founders started.
A showroom on Minna Street and a mobile service that runs around the clock
Two things make us useful to Albany. The first is that you can walk in — we keep a showroom and shopfront on Minna Street, so you can look at a security door, handle a safe and talk a lock through before you commit to anything. The second is that we do not stop at closing time. Car keys, security screens and access control
Three parts of the business are worth spelling out. On car keys, most vehicle keys now carry transponder chip technology and a central locking remote, either built into the key or on a separate fob. We hold a genuine or aftermarket solution for almost all vehicles found on Australian roads, and we have added motorcycle keys as well. Our key cutting machinery can decode a worn key and cut a fresh one to factory specifications, and we handle remotes from a complete replacement right down to a flat battery. We can also work with insurance companies on lost or stolen key replacement.
On security doors and screens, we fit Secureview Eclipx, whose 316 marine grade woven stainless steel mesh is bonded to the frame with a patented chemical fixing system and leaves no bars or grilles across the view. Xceed perforated aluminium is the less expensive alternative, powdercoated black and well suited to a corrosive coastal climate, and diamond mesh covers a modest budget. We also build flyscreens to measure and fit Phantom retractable screens. All products exceed Australian Standards 5039, 5040-1 and 5041, and the colour range runs to woodgrain finishes, with custom powdercoating available if the colour you want is not a stock one. Site assessment and quotation are obligation free.
On access control, we scale it to the building: standalone mechanical push button locks at one end, battery powered electronic push button or proximity locks and cylinders in the middle, and mains powered proximity card or keypad controllers with software and user management at the other. We work with the Australian Lock Company and SALTO Systems, whose range covers everything from a small self-managed apartment block upwards.
