CSBP Albany: the fertiliser distribution centre on Hanrahan Road
We run the CSBP fertiliser distribution centre at 198 Hanrahan Road, Mt Elphinstone, just out of Albany. It is one of our five regional distribution centres, alongside Kwinana, Bunbury, Esperance and Geraldton, and it is the point from which fertiliser in Albany and across the surrounding Great Southern farming country is held and sent out.
What we distribute
CSBP manufactures, imports and distributes phosphate, nitrogen and potassium-based fertilisers in blended, compound and liquid form. Albany is a distribution facility rather than a manufacturing plant, so what happens on Hanrahan Road is storage and despatch, along with a limited amount of blending and packaging. The site is licensed under the Environmental Protection Act as a chemical blending or mixing premises of up to 500 tonnes a year.
It is worth being clear about what a distribution centre is in our network, because we run two kinds of site. The distribution centres are at Kwinana, Albany, Bunbury, Esperance and Geraldton. Separately we run depots at Coomberdale, Merredin, Tambellup and Wagin, several of which open seasonally or by arrangement. Albany is one of the five, not one of the four, which is the difference between a site that despatches through the season and one that opens when it is needed.
How growers buy from us
You can purchase CSBP products directly from CSBP, through any Elders Rural branch in WA, or from your local sales agent. That is the question most growers ring about first, and it is worth settling before a truck is booked.
Soil and plant analysis behind the product
Away from the depot we also run the CSBP Soil and Plant Analysis Laboratory, an independent, purpose-built lab that analyses agricultural samples for advisers, growers, consultants and researchers. It operates from Bibra Lake rather than Albany, but it sits behind the recommendations that come with our fertilisers. We also continue to invest in field research aimed at cropping and pasture fertilisers suited to WA soils and conditions.

There are two sets of hours here and the difference matters if you are planning a run. Customer service is Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm. Despatch hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 4:00pm. We are closed on public holidays.
