A freight business as well as a supplier
Camtrans is a general freight carrier, and that is the larger part of what we do. We run freight between Perth and Albany and out across other parts of the Great Southern, using our own fleet of trucks and trailers. Our cartage work covers agricultural products, machinery transport, wool cartage, project cartage, dangerous goods, and bulk and overnight freight, and what we carry runs from large machinery and heavy equipment through wool, timber and bulk loads to fragile goods.
That mix is worth knowing about if you are a local business. The same operation that can quote you a pallet of pavers also runs the trucks between Perth and the Great Southern.
The fleet behind it
What we run
- Road trains: double and triple configurations, which is how we hold the price down on a long haul.
- Small vehicles: vans, utes and 8-tonne trucks, for the jobs that do not need a road train.
- Refrigerated tautliners: insulated curtains with a white, thermally reflective backing, which cuts the heat coming in over summer.
- Standard tautliners: for freight that has to stay out of the weather.
- Flat top and drop deck trailers: from 40ft through to 48ft.
- A 50-tonne float: for heavy machinery and oversize moves, run by drivers who do that work regularly.
- Extendable trailers: for loads that need the extra length.
