Avis runs two locations at Albany Airport, and it is worth knowing which one you want before you ring. One is the standard car and 4WD counter. This listing is the other one — Albany Airport Commercial Vehicles, known in the Avis system as AB6 — and it is the one that holds the utes, vans, trucks and buses. Both operate out of the same Terminal Building, so you are not driving to two different places, but booking against the right location saves a conversation.
What we ask before you drive away
Hire conditions at this location
- Minimum age: 21 years to drive a vehicle with Avis.
- Licence: a full, current and valid driving licence, held for at least 12 consecutive months.
- Overseas licences: an International Driving Permit is required if your licence is not in the Roman alphabet.
- Additional drivers: anyone else who will drive has to meet the same age and licence conditions.
- Pick-up service: available from this location, and free of charge if you give us 24 hours’ notice.
- Returns: our own instruction for this branch is that the rental vehicle must be returned during office hours. There is a key drop here, and the vehicle stays your responsibility until the office opens again, but plan the drop-off inside our hours rather than assuming the key drop will do.
We have not listed truck sizes here, because Avis does not publish a fleet breakdown for the Albany desk.
