We have been established in Albany for over 20 years.
Sixteen staff and five teams on the road
Managing Director Stefan Ericson took the helm in 2013 and has worked to develop and expand the business since. We now employ sixteen staff and run five service and installation teams on the road. We also name them all on our own site, which is worth knowing before you ring: Matt Heberle manages the workshop, Peter Cooksey is our gas technician, Shane Bell and Cole McKee are appliance technicians, and Nick Barrow, Dan Glasson and Brad Lister are electricians. Bailey Belfield, Lincoln Pearce and Tyla Anderson are apprentice electricians, so the next lot are being trained here in Albany too.
The gas side of the business
Gas is in our name and on our staff list. We repair and service gas appliances in houses and in commercial kitchens, and our appliance work covers gas and electric equally rather than treating gas as an afterthought. One reminder we pass on: it is recommended that a gas room heater is serviced every two years. That is an easy one to let slide until the first properly cold night of a Great Southern winter.

The commercial appliance side is a real part of the workload, and multiple local hospitality outlets call on us to keep their equipment running. On that side we work on conventional and combi ovens, deep fryers, char grills and flat top grills, bain maries, glasswashers and dishwashers, washing machines and dryers, storage and instant hot water systems, and built-in, portable, convection and radiant LPG heaters. If a kitchen goes down mid-service that is not a job that keeps until next week, and we know it.
Warranty work and the brands we cover
We are the local warranty service agent for almost all the major appliance brands and manufacturers, which is often how people end up with us rather than by picking us off a list. The brands we service include AEG, Asko, Beko, Bosch, Chef, Convotherm, Electrolux, Fisher & Paykel, Haier, LG, Maytag, Merrychef, Miele, Moffat, Rheem, Rinnai, Smeg, Tennant, Turbofan, Veeco, Waldorf, Washtech and Westinghouse. Several of those are commercial catering names, which reflects the commercial appliance servicing we do alongside the domestic work.
Electrical contracting, from houses to agricultural sheds
Our electrical work covers residential, commercial and rural jobs, plus data and communications. On the residential side that is new homes, renovations, and general light and power works — everything from a new build through to replacing a light fitting. On the commercial side it is new projects, installations and electrical design, underground services, shed fit outs and shop fit outs. Out on rural properties the list has its own shape: underground services, power upgrades, agricultural sheds, new homes and renovations. We work with local retailers and builders as well as directly with householders, and our team is made up of qualified electricians and service technicians.
Recent work around the Great Southern
Three jobs from our own project page give a fair idea of the scale we work at. The new pool facilities building for the Shire of Plantagenet at Mt Barker, completed September 2022, took in the site main switchboard, lighting, power, data, security and audio-visual services. Eve Nightbar, completed January 2023, was a complete renovation of an existing basement for a new bar and beer garden: we assisted with the lighting and audio-visual design, upgraded the switchboard, and ran new cabling throughout including emergency lighting, security, phone and data. Albany City Motors, completed October 2022, was a showroom renovation staged over two phases in coordination with the dealership so it could keep trading, with new office lights, power and data, a meter box upgrade, new distribution boards and dealership signage.
Hours, call-outs and booking
We are open Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4:30pm, and Friday, 8am to 4pm, and closed on weekends. A call-out fee applies to repair visits and it is not the same in Albany as it is in Denmark, so ask what it will be when you book. We cover the South Coast, including Denmark, Mt Barker and Bremer Bay, and we run fortnightly trips to Denmark rather than making that drive one job at a time.
