The Hub On York is a clothing store at 176 York Street, Albany. We have been here since 1954, we are still locally owned and run, and we dress men and women across the Great Southern for work, weekends and the occasions in between. Seventy years on York Street
Established in 1954, we remain an independent Albany store rather than a branch of anything. We are an independently owned and operated Mensland member store, part of a group of independents around Australia who share expertise and stock knowledge, and we are a listed Levi’s stockist. What we put on the floor is chosen for the people who actually walk through the door here, which is why the racks run from town shirts to work gear and back again. Our stated focus is on customer service, and in a shop this size that means someone knows the fit of every label on the wall.
What we stock
The range covers sleepwear, casual wear and business wear all the way through to formal, for all ages and most tastes. Departments are laid out by who they are for rather than by brand.

- Underwear, socks and thermals: a full department of its own, for men and women.
- Kids: suits, vests, braces and ties, for weddings and school photos and the like.
- Luggage and leather: suitcases and bags, handbags, purses and wallets.
- Shoes, homewares and gifts: including diffusers, fragrance and gift sets.
The labels on our racks
For women we carry Yarra Trail, Marco Polo, Jump, Foil, Ping Pong, Thomas Cook, Toorallie and Bridge & Lord, alongside Orientique, Mansted, Corfu, Kingston Grange, See Saw and Sportswave. For men the regulars are Superdry, Ben Sherman, Nautica, Daniel Hechter, Levi’s, Calvin Klein and Breakaway, with Country Road, Politix and Trenery also in store, plus Brooksfield, Gloweave, Van Heusen, City Club and Farah for business wear. Australian-made labels matter to us, and we stock Jimmy Stuart, Formation Fashions, Ballarat Gold, Branberry and Humphrey Law. For anyone working outdoors there is Pure Western, Wrangler, Swanndri, Hard Slog, Rainbird and Outback Trading Company, and the underwear and sock wall runs to Bonds, Jockey, Holeproof, Ambra, Voodoo, Bamboozld, Merino Skins and Thermo Fleece. Hats come from Failsworth, Scala and Avenel.
Opening hours, online orders and returns
The shop is open 9am to 5.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 8pm on Thursday for late-night shopping, and 9am to 4pm on Saturday. We are closed Sundays. Our customer care line runs 9am to 5.30pm weekdays. You can order online, and the current postage rates for regular and express delivery within Australia, and for international orders, are set out on the shipping page of our website. On non-sale items we offer a store credit or an exchange if you get in touch within 14 days of delivery, with proof of purchase, the swing tag still attached and the garment unworn and re-saleable; return postage is at your cost. Sale items are not returnable, and swimwear, underwear and socks cannot be exchanged for hygiene reasons.
