We are a nursery and landscape supplies yard in Albany, at 105 Lower King Road in Collingwood Heights, and we have been here since 2001. Grant and the team stock plants at one end and bulk materials at the other, so a garden bed and the soil to fill it can come from the same trip. We are open seven days. The nursery
The plant side is broad rather than boutique, and it is built around what actually grows on the south coast.
What we grow and sell
- Native plants: eucalypts, grevilleas, proteaceous natives and native shrubs.
- Fruit trees: citrus, avocados, mangoes, olives, pomegranates and berries.
- Deciduous and ornamental trees: Japanese maples, oaks, redbuds and other ornamental deciduous.
- Roses: climbing, standard, shrub and Delbard.
- Hedging and climbers: for screening, boundaries and pergolas.
- Indoor and patio plants: for inside and under cover.
- Succulents, grasses and cottage plants: plus potted colour and water plants.
- Bulbs and seedlings: daffodils, tulips and seasonal vegetable seedlings.
- Seasonal produce: fruit and veg, and cut Christmas trees in season.
If we do not have it on the bench, we can often order it in — worth a phone call before you drive to Perth for it. The range shifts with the season, so what is on the benches in July is not what is there in November, and the potted colour and seedling tables turn over fastest of all.
Landscape supplies, by the bin
We run over 50 bins of bulk material. Mulches include timber chip, tea tree and lupin. Soils cover premium potting mix, garden soil and specialty blends. Sands and gravels take in river sand, blue metal, limestone and pebbles, and we carry building supplies including builders sand and lime sand. Whether it is a couple of barrow loads for a garden bed or a truck for a build, the same yard covers it.
Firewood
We stock dry, seasoned jarrah mixed firewood, available in bags or in bulk, for pickup from the yard or delivery. Bags suit a fireplace and the odd weekend; bulk is the sensible option if you are heating a house through an Albany winter.
Pots, fertilisers and garden chemicals
Alongside the plants we carry a large range of indoor and outdoor pots, fertilisers, weed sprays, insecticides and general plant care products. The staff are local and garden here themselves, so the advice about what to put on what, and when, comes free with the bag.
Trailers, delivery and gift cards
Courtesy and hire trailers are available, which solves the usual problem of wanting a cubic metre of mulch and owning a hatchback. We deliver across the Great Southern — Denmark, Mount Barker, Elleker, Little Grove, Lockyer, McKail, Yakamia, Middleton Beach and the surrounding areas. Ring to arrange it and to check what a load will cost to your address. We also sell gift cards, online or over the phone, in a range of values, and they can be used across the whole range: plants, soils, mulches, pots and plant care products.
Ordering and buying online
Most of what we sell is best chosen in person, and the phone is the fastest way to check stock or get a price on a bulk load. We do run an online store, currently carrying gift cards, and orders can be placed over the phone as well.
