The business has been operating out of the same shop since it was established in 1987, and today it is run by David and Samantha Whittington, a husband and wife team. Not much in retail lasts nearly forty years in one spot. We have, and it shapes how we work: we know what has been fitted in houses around Albany, and we would rather help you pick the right fitting than sell you the nearest one. Because we source from a number of different manufacturers and wholesalers, we are not tied to one supplier’s catalogue. If we do not have what you need in stock, we will happily order it in for you. The showroom matters too — a pendant that looks one way on a screen can look completely different lit up in front of you, which is why we keep the range on and working.

The range covers everyday replacements right through to the feature fitting for a new build, along with a few things people are surprised to find in a lighting shop.
Our product ranges
- Pendants: a large range covering everything from single glass and metal fittings to multi-light clusters, in finishes such as black, chrome, brushed brass, rose gold, satin chrome, antique brown and natural cane.
- Table, floor and wall lights: lamps and wall fittings for living areas and bedrooms.
- Close to ceiling: flush and semi-flush fittings for rooms with lower ceilings.
- Outdoor lights: exterior fittings, including ranges finished for coastal conditions.
- Bathroom: fittings suited to wet areas.
- Ceiling fans: AC and DC models, from timber-bladed statement fans to low-profile huggers and IP-rated outdoor ranges.
- Heaters: panel, ceramic, infrared, patio and radiant strip heaters for indoors, bathrooms and covered outdoor areas.
- Lamp shades and DIY shades: replacement shades, so a good lamp does not get thrown out over a torn shade.
- Novelty and miscellaneous: the odds and ends, including gift-sized pieces.
- Clearance items: a running clearance range with around a hundred items listed at any time.
Fans and heaters, not just lights
Two parts of the range surprise people who come in expecting only light fittings. The ceiling fan range covers AC and DC models: the Aeratron AE2+, the all-ABS Bondi range, the quiet DC-motor Cabarita, the real-timber Currumbin, the Glacier with its LCD remote and optional 20-watt light kit, the low-profile Iluka Hugger for rooms with low ceilings, and the IP55-rated Kurrawa for covered outdoor areas. The heater range is just as broad. We carry Heller panel, ceramic, upright, oscillating, infrared and bathroom fan heaters, along with a Heller electric flame-effect fireplace and outdoor patio heaters. For covered outdoor areas and bathrooms there are radiant strip and infrared options, including the IP65-rated Heatwave Pro, which is wall and ceiling mountable, the Sunset 1800-watt strip heater and the Sunburst Mini in 1000-watt and 2000-watt sizes. If you are trying to make an alfresco usable through an Albany winter, that is the shelf to come and look at.
Visiting us, ordering in and opening hours
Our stock changes constantly and we can order in from many different suppliers, so it is always worth asking even if you cannot see it on the shelf. Bring a photo of the room, or the old fitting itself if it has come down — that is usually the fastest way to match a replacement.
