Albany Holiday Units: Self-Contained Accommodation at Middleton Beach
We are Albany Holiday Units, at 19-21 Golf Links Road, Middleton Beach. We offer self-contained accommodation in Albany WA in one, two and three bedroom units, less than a kilometre from the National Anzac Centre. The units sit in among the cafes, restaurants and coastline that bring most people to this end of Albany in the first place, which is the practical argument for staying here rather than out on the highway.
A 1950 building still doing the job it was built for
Our Art Deco units were purpose-built for accommodation in 1950, and the proportions of that decade are still the best thing about them: large rooms, high ceilings, and enough floor space that a family is not stepping over each other by day three. They have been kept current inside. Each one is air conditioned and has a flat-screen TV, and the kitchens are fully equipped rather than token — a fridge and freezer, a microwave, a freestanding oven with a stovetop, and tea and coffee making facilities. If you have ever tried to cook a proper meal in a motel room with a jug and a bar fridge, the difference is the whole point of a self-contained unit.
Our unit types and what each one sleeps
Layouts across the property
- Art Deco twin share: two bedrooms, with a queen bed in the first and two single beds in the second, opening onto a combined kitchen, dining and lounge area.
- Art Deco two bedroom: a single bed and a queen bed in the master bedroom and three single beds in the second, with separate lounge and kitchen areas.
- Art Deco three bedroom: a queen bed and a single bed in two of the bedrooms, a single bed in a smaller third bedroom, and a separate kitchen and lounge.
- Studios: a queen bed and a sofa, with a folding bed available on request. The kitchenette has a fridge, a microwave, electric benchtop hotplates and tea and coffee making facilities, and there is a separate bathroom with a walk-in shower and toilet, reverse cycle air conditioning and a flat-screen TV.
- Large two bedroom units: a queen bed in the master bedroom and two single beds in the second, plus a folding bed on request. The kitchen has a fridge and freezer, a freestanding oven with a stovetop and a microwave, and the separate lounge area holds two lounges and a flat-screen TV, with a DVD player on request.
The large two bedroom units are the ones we describe as wheelchair friendly. They come with undercover carports, and the bathroom has a level floor and a wheelchair-accessible shower. If accessibility matters for your booking, ring us before you book and we will talk you through the specific unit rather than leaving you to guess from a photograph.
On site, and how to book with us
Parking is on site and adjacent to your unit, so luggage does not have to travel far. There are guest barbecue and laundry facilities, useful on a longer stay or after a few days of beach towels. Free Wi-Fi runs across the property, and the whole property is smoke free.
