We are the Budget rental counter at Albany Airport, inside the terminal building. If you are looking for car hire in Albany WA, this is our only branch in town, so there is no second Budget office to compare against. The counter is in the terminal and the cars are a short walk away, at the southern end of the terminal in the building behind the baggage claim area.
Our hours are split across the day
Our opening hours are not a straight nine to five, and they are worth checking before you book a flight. Monday to Friday we are open 8:30am to 5pm, then again from 8pm to 8:45pm. On Saturday we are open 9am to 10am only. On Sunday we are open 1pm to 1:30pm, then again from 5pm to 8:45pm. The Saturday window in particular is a short one.
One thing the timetable does not explain on its own: Sundays meets prebooked flights only. Those two Sunday windows exist to meet flights that have already been booked, rather than as ordinary trading hours, which is why they look so odd on paper. If you are a local hoping to pick up a car on a Sunday, ring the branch first rather than driving out to the terminal.
Pick-ups, one-way hires and returns
We offer one-way rentals, so if you are driving on rather than looping back to Albany you do not have to bring the car home to us. We also run a free pick-up service. That one needs 24 hours’ notice and has to be arranged by ringing the branch directly on (08) 9841 7799, rather than through an online booking.
The counter procedure here is simple enough. On pick-up, come to the Budget Fastbreak line or the rental counter and present your driver licence, and we will hand over the rental agreement and the keys. On return, park the vehicle and lock it; if there is no return agent in the rental car park, bring the keys to the counter along with the mileage and the fuel level. You can access your receipt online within 72 hours of returning the vehicle.
Returns are worth reading twice. We do not accept after-hours returns, so the car needs to come back while we are open. There is a key drop box, but if you use it outside our hours the vehicle and any charges on it remain your responsibility until we close the contract on the next business day. Set against the hours above, that is something to plan around rather than discover on the way to a flight.
