Dolphin Lodge Albany: Self-Contained Accommodation at Middleton Beach
Dolphin Lodge is self-contained accommodation in Middleton Beach, Albany, at 32 Adelaide Crescent. We are a five minute walk from Middleton Beach and about five minutes’ drive from the centre of Albany, with the National Anzac Centre and the Albany Golf Links a short drive away as well. We host couples, families and business travellers, and our units run, in our own words, from one person to a bus load.
Apartments, villas and spa suites
Every unit is self-contained, and we describe them as quality 4.5 star. Sizes run from one bedroom up to a four-bedroom house, set among the gardens.
The units we have
- 1 Bedroom Apartment: self-catering, and suited to the business traveller.
- 1 Bedroom Executive: sleeps one or two, fully self-contained.
- 1 Bedroom King Spa: for two, with a king bed, a private balcony upstairs and private courtyards downstairs.
- 2 Bedroom Apartment: queen beds, TV, DVD, radio, in-house movies and Foxtel, wireless broadband internet, telephone and a living area.
- 3 Bedroom Apartment: the same fit-out as the two-bedroom, with an extra room.
- 2-3 Bedroom Villa: air-conditioned and fully self-contained, bedrooms upstairs and living downstairs, with its own laundry, undercover parking and outdoor settings front and rear.
- 2-3 Bedroom King Spa: spa baths, quality beds and linen, and a new oven and microwave.
- 1-4 Bedroom House: four bedrooms, three bathrooms and three toilets, with lockable internal doors so it can be taken as anything from one bedroom up to the whole house.
What we have on site
There is more here than the units. We have an onsite gym, a barbecue area, an enclosed playground area and garden settings through the property, and we run 5G internet. Foxtel and free in-house movies come with the rooms, and bed and breakfast is available. We also hire out scooters and a dinghy, which is not something most beachside lodges offer and is worth knowing before you decide what to load into the car.
Middleton Beach at the front door
Middleton Beach is a five minute walk away, with life guards, playgrounds and the boardwalk. The centre of Albany is about five minutes by car. Cycle ways, walkways and a public bus service to Emu Point and the city centre all run from our front door. Eyres Park is just around the corner, with shady trees, waterways, children’s play equipment and barbecues, and there is a local park with a barbecue and a waterway with birdlife nearby. Albany Golf Links, the Middleton Beach Bowling Club, and Emu Point and the Boat Harbour are all close by, as are restaurants and cafes. A short drive away are Discovery Bay, formerly Whale World, and Torndirrup National Park.
One local fact worth planning a trip around: whales can be seen from the boardwalk that looks out over Middleton Beach and King George Sound, from May to October.
