Albany Engineering: Machining, Fabrication and Repairs in Albany WA
We are an engineering workshop in Albany WA, at 71 Roundhay Street. We machine, fabricate, weld and repair for agricultural, commercial and industrial customers across the Great Southern, and we have been doing it from Albany since 1964. The workshop number is (08) 9841 3101, and there is a separate after-hours number for breakdowns.
Established in 1964, still on Roundhay Street
Albany Engineering Company was established in 1964. Our machining workshop is one of the larger ones in the region, and we hold a wide range of steel in stock so a job does not have to wait on a delivery from Perth before it can start. We work in mild steel, stainless steel and industrial aluminium. Keeping steel on the floor is what lets us fabricate cost-effectively and turn work around quickly.
The customers who come to us are the ones who keep gear running: farms, earthmoving contractors, forestry operators, marine operators, and businesses maintaining commercial and industrial machinery. Some of it is planned work. A good share of it is a broken part on a machine that needs to be back in service tomorrow.
What we do in the workshop
Our engineering services
- Machining and fitting: custom work from small components through to industrial repairs.
- Boilermaking and welding: fabrication in mild steel, stainless steel and industrial aluminium, drawn from our stocked steel.
- CNC plasma cutting: a more recent addition to the workshop, cutting up to 1200mm x 2400mm and up to 32mm thick.
- Mobile welding: welding done on your site when the job cannot practically be finished in our workshop.
- Engineering repairs: welding, re-bushing and machining, made to the specification the job needs.
- 24-hour call-out: breakdown support after hours.
The CNC plasma table lets us cut plate and profiles in house rather than sending the work away, which shortens the turnaround on fabrication jobs. For repairs, re-bushing and machining worn components is often the practical alternative to replacing a whole assembly.
Machinery parts, attachments and the industries we serve
Alongside the workshop, we supply parts and attachments for earthmoving gear. We stock ITR Pacific excavator and dozer parts — ITR describes itself as the world’s largest supplier of aftermarket earthmoving machinery parts — and we supply Miller Groundbreaking excavator attachments, including quick hitches and buckets. If you are running an excavator or a dozer around the Great Southern, it is worth asking us before you order interstate. Between the parts counter and the workshop, a worn bucket can often be repaired, re-bushed or replaced without the machine leaving the district.
Our work sits across five areas: agriculture, commercial and industrial machinery maintenance, earthworks, forestry, and marine. Albany’s mix of farming country, port and forestry means a workshop here has to be able to move between a header component, a trailer repair and a stainless fabrication in the same week, and that is what our fitters and boilermakers are set up to do.
Hours, breakdowns and getting in touch
Our workshop is open 7:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. For general enquiries, quotes and job bookings, call (08) 9841 3101 or email [email protected]. If something breaks down outside those hours, our 24-hour call-out number is 0438 934 637.
You will find us at 71 Roundhay Street, Albany WA 6330. If you are not sure whether a part can be repaired rather than replaced, bring it in or send us a photo — that is usually the quickest way to get an answer. We also post updates and job photos to our Facebook page, and there is customer feedback published on our website if you would like to read it before you call.
